Skin Tone Matters

Laser hair removal that does not exclude darker skin.

Plenty of people have been told this treatment is not for them. Older systems struggled with darker skin because they could not separate the pigment in the hair from the pigment in the skin.

Soprano Titanium is designed for use across a wide range of skin types. It combines multiple wavelengths with gradual heating and integrated cooling, and the settings are chosen for your skin and hair, not applied from a default.

Suitable Black clients can be treated when appropriate technology and parameters are used. Assessment and patch testing still matter, whatever your skin tone.

Women & Men

Laser hair removal is not only for women.

Your plan is tailored around the areas that matter to you, whether that is one small area or a full body course.

Women's Laser Hair Removal

From facial hair removal and upper lip to underarms, Hollywood, leg hair and full body treatment, your plan can be tailored around the areas that matter most.

The Real Reason People Book

Tired of ingrown hairs and shaving marks?

For many clients, wanting laser is not simply about wanting less hair. Repeated shaving and waxing can contribute to:

Ingrown hairs
Razor bumps
Skin irritation
Repeated inflammation
The appearance of shaving-related dark marks
Rough-feeling skin

By progressively reducing hair growth, treatment can reduce your reliance on frequent shaving or waxing, and may help reduce recurring irritation. If pigmentation is already present, it may need separate treatment. It should not be considered a guaranteed treatment for existing dark marks.

Individual results vary. Hair colour, thickness, density, skin characteristics and hormonal factors all affect how many sessions you need and how much reduction you see. Hormone-driven hair such as PCOS-related growth often needs ongoing maintenance. We will tell you honestly what is realistic for your hair at consultation.

Laser, IPL or Electrolysis

Three different technologies. Only one is laser.

Laser, IPL and electrolysis get used interchangeably online and they are not the same thing. Here is the honest comparison, including where the other two beat laser.

LaserWe use this
How it worksA focused single-wavelength beam targets the pigment in the hair follicle.
Best forLarger areas and long-term hair reduction across face, body and intimate areas.
Typical courseAround 6 to 8 sessions, then occasional maintenance.
Skin tonesDesigned for a wide range of skin tones, including Black and darker skin, after patch testing.
SpeedFast. A full body session is a single appointment.
IPLNot offered here
How it worksScattered broad-spectrum light across many wavelengths rather than one focused beam.
Best forLighter skin with dark hair. Most home devices are IPL, not true laser.
Typical courseUsually more sessions than laser for a comparable result.
Skin tonesMore limited. Higher risk on darker skin because the energy is less selective.
SpeedSlower progress per session in most cases.
ElectrolysisNot offered here
How it worksA fine probe destroys one follicle at a time using an electrical current.
Best forGrey, white, red and very fine blonde hair, which laser cannot target.
Typical courseMany appointments. It is genuinely permanent removal, follicle by follicle.
Skin tonesWorks on any skin tone and any hair colour.
SpeedSlow. Small areas only, such as stray chin or lip hairs.

We offer laser, not IPL or electrolysis. If your hair is grey, white or very fine and blonde, laser has nothing to target and electrolysis is genuinely the better route. We would rather tell you that than take your money for a course that will not work.

Consultation & Patch Test

Nothing starts until you are assessed.

Before beginning your course, we assess whether treatment is appropriate for you. Where required, a patch test is completed before your first full treatment so we can see how your skin responds and set the right parameters.

During treatment the Soprano Titanium applicator moves across the area while the cooling system works. You may feel warmth. Afterwards you get aftercare guidance and a date for your next appointment.

Your consultation covers
  • Areas you would like treated
  • Hair colour and characteristics
  • Skin characteristics
  • Previous hair-removal methods
  • Previous laser treatments
  • Medical history and medication
  • Skin conditions
  • Recent sun exposure or tanning
  • Previous reactions to laser
  • Your treatment goals
How Many Sessions

Permanent hair reduction, not overnight removal.

The honest term is permanent hair reduction rather than permanent removal. Hair grows in stages and laser works best when the follicle is in an active growth phase, which is why a course is recommended. Many clients begin with approximately 6 to 8 sessions, then drop to occasional maintenance.

What affects your number of sessions
  • Treatment area
  • Hair colour
  • Hair thickness
  • Hair density
  • Skin characteristics
  • Hormonal influences
  • Previous hair-removal methods
  • Individual response
At-Home Devices

Already own a home device? Read this first.

Home hair removal devices from brands such as Ulike, Braun and Philips are popular for a reason. They are convenient, they are cheap over time, and for fine hair on lighter skin they can genuinely help.

What is worth knowing is that almost all of them are IPL, not laser, and they run at a fraction of clinic energy on purpose, because they are sold for unsupervised use at home.

That makes them reasonable for maintenance. It makes them much slower on coarse, dense or dark hair, and they are not the right tool for intimate areas or for darker skin tones where settings really matter.

Plenty of our clients keep their device and use it between appointments. That is a perfectly sensible plan, and we will tell you so.

Intimate Areas Explained

Bikini, Brazilian or Hollywood? Here is the difference.

These three get mixed up constantly, and booking the wrong one is an awkward conversation to have on the day. Nobody will make you feel odd for asking.

Bikini Line

The classic option. Treats the hair that would sit outside a standard bikini or underwear line, leaving the rest untouched.

Single £506 sessions £2298 sessions £289
Book Bikini Line

Brazilian

The middle ground. Most of the hair is removed from the pubic area, front and between, usually leaving a deliberate strip or triangle at the front.

Single £756 sessions £3758 sessions £459
Book Brazilian

Hollywood

Everything removed, front to back, with nothing left behind. On our price list this is listed as Hollywood, and Hollywood + Perianal covers the full rear area too.

Single £856 sessions £4258 sessions £525
Book Hollywood

Intimate hair grows back differently from leg or arm hair and is often more hormonally influenced, so it can need a few more sessions and occasional maintenance. Our Intimate Essentials package pairs Hollywood with underarms from £99, which is how most clients book it.

Laser Hair Removal Prices

Laser hair removal cost, every area, no guessing.

Most clinics hide the cost behind an enquiry form. Here is the full list. Book a single session, a 6 session course or an 8 session course, and courses bring the cost per session down significantly.

Laser hair removal consultation and skin assessment at J Artistry Clinic in Coventry
Why J Artistry Clinic

Assessed, patch tested, then treated.

Laser is a device, not a service. What separates a good course from a disappointing one is the screening and the settings behind it.

Soprano Titanium technology

Professional laser designed for effective hair reduction while prioritising your comfort during treatment.

Suitable for a wide range of skin tones

Treatment parameters are selected according to your individual skin and hair characteristics, not a single default setting.

Full-body treatment available

Treat one area, or build a comprehensive full body laser hair removal plan across face, body and intimate areas.

Women's and men's laser

Professional hair reduction across a wide range of facial and body areas, for women and for men.

Individual treatment plans

Your settings are not copied from another client. Skin, hair, treatment area and response all shape the plan.

Professional screening

Consultation, suitability assessment and patch testing are part of responsible laser hair removal, not optional extras.

Laser hair removal is not suitable for everyone.

Not everybody will be suitable at every appointment. Treatment may be postponed, modified or declined depending on factors including certain medications, active skin infections, open wounds, significant irritation, recent tanning, certain medical or skin conditions, previous adverse laser reactions, tattoos within the area, and pregnancy.

Suitability is assessed before treatment. Where there is uncertainty about a medical condition or medication, appropriate medical advice or clearance may be required.

Laser hair removal questions, answered honestly.

If yours is not here, call the clinic on +44 7591 092255.

Yes, when it is carried out by a trained operator on a suitable client using appropriate settings. That is why consultation, suitability screening and patch testing are not optional here. The risks that do exist come almost entirely from treating the wrong person, the wrong skin or with the wrong parameters.

Laser uses a focused single wavelength. IPL uses scattered broad-spectrum light across many wavelengths. Laser is more targeted, which generally means fewer sessions and better control on darker skin. Most at-home devices are IPL rather than true laser. We use laser.

If your hair is fine and your skin is light, a home IPL device from a brand like Ulike, Braun or Philips may be enough. For coarse or dense hair, darker skin, or intimate areas, clinic laser is a different level of energy and control. Bring your device up at consultation and we will give you a straight answer.

Brazilian removes most of the pubic hair but usually leaves a strip or triangle at the front. Hollywood removes everything, front to back. Bikini line only treats what sits outside your underwear line. See the intimate areas section for prices.

Single sessions start at £30 for upper lip and £179 for full body without face. Courses of 6 or 8 sessions reduce the price per session considerably, and combination packages start at £99. Our full price list is published on this page. Klarna and Clearpay are available in clinic.

No, we offer laser. Electrolysis treats one follicle at a time with an electrical current and is the right choice for grey, white, red or very fine blonde hair, which laser cannot target because there is no pigment to absorb the energy. If that describes your hair, we will say so.

Laser is better described as long-term or permanent hair reduction rather than a guarantee that every hair is gone forever. Some regrowth can occur and maintenance appointments may be required.

Sensation varies between clients and treatment areas. Soprano Titanium uses gradual heating alongside built-in cooling technology designed to improve comfort, which is why many clients find it more comfortable than older laser systems.

Yes. Suitable Black clients can receive laser hair removal when appropriate technology and treatment parameters are used. Your individual skin and hair characteristics are assessed before treatment, and a patch test is carried out where required.

Soprano Titanium is designed for use across a wide range of skin types. Appropriate assessment, patch testing and treatment parameters remain important regardless of skin tone.

Many clients begin with approximately 6 to 8 treatments. Additional or maintenance appointments may be required depending on your treatment area, hair characteristics, hormonal influences and individual response.

Yes. Shaving is the preferred hair-removal method during a laser course, because it leaves the follicle intact for treatment.

No. Avoid waxing, plucking, threading and epilating during your course. These methods remove hair from the follicle, which is exactly what the laser needs to target.

Reducing hair growth can help reduce the recurrence of hair-related ingrown hairs for some clients. It is one of the most common reasons people start a course.

Laser is primarily a hair-reduction treatment. Reducing repeated shaving and ingrown hairs may reduce some of the ongoing irritation associated with dark marks, but existing pigmentation may require separate skin treatment. See our corrective skin treatments.

Yes, suitable facial areas can be treated. Facial hair may be influenced by hormonal factors, so expectations and treatment planning can differ from body hair.

Clients with PCOS may still be suitable for laser hair reduction. Hormonal influences can affect hair growth, which means additional treatments or ongoing maintenance may be required.

Yes. Men's laser hair reduction is available for suitable facial and body areas, including back, chest, abdomen, arms and back of neck.

No. Laser should not be performed directly over a tattoo. The tattooed area will be appropriately avoided during treatment.

Treatment is generally postponed during pregnancy.

Contact us and we will advise the appropriate time to reschedule based on your treatment area and hair-growth cycle. Consistency matters, but one missed appointment is not the end of your course.
